I'm Raya, the artist behind Oceanic Elements.

I used to paint 25 years ago when I lived in Canada, but life took me down different roads and the brushes were put away.

A few years ago, life asked us to start again. My husband and I sold everything, packed our huskies into the camper van, and followed the sun north to the Sunshine Coast.

We found a little pocket where the beach meets the river. Mornings are bare feet and salty air, afternoons are slow and sun-warmed, evenings are pups curled at our feet. Everything here is simpler, softer and lighter.

Being by the ocean every day, something woke up in me.

This year, after 25 years, I finally picked up a brush again.

I was surrounded by blues - deep ocean blues, bright turquoise shallows, soft coral whites. Like looking down onto a living reef from above. I had to paint that feeling.

So I started pouring. No brushes, just breath and movement and tide. Fluid acrylics that flow like water. Each piece is completely original - one of a kind, no prints, never repeated. Once it finds its home, it's gone.

These paintings are my return. A quiet, happy return to the thing I loved, in the place that healed me.
